What the referendum costs your home
Enter your home's gross assessed value, or find a value near yours in the table below. Every rate comes from the certified ballot, the County Auditor, or the school board's own resolution.
Two numbers, two questions
The referendum costs you is the new rate minus today's 37¢ rate in the same year. It's the price of what's on the ballot, by itself.
Your total bill vs. 2026 compares the new rate against what you pay now. That comparison also includes the separate SEA 1 state tax cut, which you get whether or not the referendum passes.
Your gross assessed value is on your tax bill. You can also look it up at the Hamilton County property reports site.

How to read it. The first two columns compare against keeping today's 37¢ rate. The last two compare against having no operating referendum at all. That's the comparison Indiana law requires the ballot to print, because the current referendum expires in December 2026. At $350,000 the last column comes to $954.18, which the ballot rounds to $955 a year.
The official rates behind these numbers
- 37¢ per $100 of assessed value: today's Noblesville operating referendum rate, certified by the Hamilton County Auditor.
- 38.5¢: the most the board's August 18, 2026 resolution allows in 2027. After 2027 it allows increases of up to 4¢ a year, which reaches 57¢ in 2032.
- 57¢: the maximum rate in the certified ballot question, from the state's Final Determination 26-015.
- Homestead deductions follow SEA 1 (IC 6-1.1-12-37 and 37.5). In 2027: a $40,000 standard deduction, plus a supplemental deduction of 46% of the rest. From 2031: no standard deduction, and a 66.7% supplemental deduction.
These figures cover the operating referendum only, not the rest of your tax bill. They exclude the separate 8¢ referendum debt levy and SEA 1's $300 homestead credit. Rentals, second homes and land get no homestead deductions, so their costs are higher. Untick the box in the calculator to see them. Full method and sources.
